IST 2006 Helsinki Workshops on Ambient Intelligent
Workshop 1: Affective Computing for Ambient Assisted Living
Workshop Time: 180 Min
Workshop Description:
Technologies developed in passed decays have changed our life. We have to study harder and longer then ever for learning the abilities to use high techs in both our work and daily life. This opens the gulf of information and technology among generations and social classes, which can only be bridged by the technology development on natural interactions of human machine.
This cross-discipline workshop addresses to the aspects of affective computing approach to understand and simulate our emotions, including:
1. The design and implementation of experiments on natural emotion expressions.
2. The psychological measurement of the degree of emotional expression and state.
3. The collection of multi-channel affective data, including video, audio, physiological measurement, and psychological measurement.
4. The technology for analyzing and estimating emotional states.
5. The technologies for synthesizing and generation emotional expressions.
Workshop 2: Human Cyberspace Interaction in 3D Physical Space
Workshop Time: 180 Min
Workshop Description:
With the speedy progress of embedded computing, verity of computational appliances can be integrated into daily artifacts and connected as distributed systems. As the result, the physical space has been fusing inevitably and gradually with cyberspace, and transforming into physical-cyber dual space.
The Human Cyberspace Interaction (HCI) in dual space is a radical reformation of the traditional Human Computer Interaction. In the perspective of information processing and interaction, this workshop addresses to the following topics of HCI in dual space:
(1) The theories and technologies for supporting users interact with the cyberspace in the 3D physical space where “computers” are the embedded computing devices around the users.
(2) The ontology and the context of HCI in dual space, which focus on the analysis and understanding of human behavior and action under the support of context aware computing.
(3) The social and psychological aspects of human cyberspace interaction.
