Title: "European Innovation Platform for Knowledge Intensive Services" The aim of this call is to create a European Innovation Platform for knowledge intensive services by bridging between research, skills, incubation, entrepreneurship, finance and clusters in view of creating more European innovation champions in the field of services. Please reserve this date in your diary as this event will provide a significant opportunity to become actively involved in NEM activities both in terms of the ongoing NEM work and preparation for FP7. The 4th General Assembly will address the following topics: • NEM achievements to date As the mandate of 22 current members of the NEM Steering Board expires in spring 2007, we are now inviting nominations of candidates for new NEM Steering Board members. The NEM SB members who are at the end of their term of office are also invited to nominate themselves for re-election. Technological Development2006-06-28 11:20 Etc/GMT+1 eContentplus programmeOn 9 March 2005 the European Parliament and the Council approved the eContentplus Programme, a multiannual Community programme to make digital content in Europe more accessible, usable and exploitable. The eContentplus programme will support the development of multi-lingual content for innovative, on-line services across the EU. The 4-year programme (2005–08), proposed by the European Commission, will have a budget of € 149 million to tackle organisational barriers and promote take up of leading-edge technical solutions to improve accessibility and usability of digital material in a multilingual environment. The Programme addresses specific market areas where development has been slow: geographic content (as a key constituent of public sector content), educational content, cultural, scientific and scholarly content. The Programme also supports EU-wide co-ordination of collections in libraries, museums and archives and the preservation of digital collections so as to ensure availability of cultural, scholarly and scientific assets for future use.
