DG Enterprise and Industry works to ensure that EU policies contribute to the sustainable competitiveness of EU enterprises and facilitate job creation and sustainable economic growth. It plays a major role in implementing the Lisbon strategy for growth and jobs.

We pay particular attention to the needs of manufacturing industry, tourism, and small and medium sized enterprises: managing programmes to encourage entrepreneurship and innovation and ensuring that Community legislation takes proper account of their concerns.

This Grant Programme 2007 revolves around the objectives of the Enterprise Directorate General’s Annual Management Plan. In order to reach these objectives the following activities, from which the grant programme is derived, are to be carried out:

Grant Programme 2007

Title : "Reinforcing synergies between public policies in support of e-business for SMEs"

The general objective of this grant theme is to support and facilitate the exchange of best policy practices between e-business policy makers and/or SME support networks in the enlarged European Union and beyond.
The approach to be followed is to build upon policy actions which have already been successfully implemented at regional, sectoral, local or national level, complementing them at the European level in order to achieve top class support measures for SMEs in the e-business domain.

What is the ICT Policy Support Programme?

ICT Policy Support Programme The ICT Policy Support Programme (or ICT PSP) aims at stimulating innovation and competitiveness through the wider uptake and best use of ICT by citizens, governments and businesses.

The programme builds on the aims of the previous e-TEN, Modinis and e-Content programmes and will support the aims of the new integrated strategy i2010 - European Information Society 2010.
